    Hi Marie!

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16
Praying that you and your group are being that light. Trusting God for His protection on all of you while enabling you to do the building that was ready for you to accomplish.

Have an awesome time while praising God in His provision.

    Love you a lot!

Didn’t know we would have the awesome privilege of updates. By the way when Julie answered you last night I was next to her in the living room and she DID NOT let dad and I know there was updates from you/your group. Go figure. The bug bites sound like a treat! How’s the ankle bite. Glad to hear the camera is doing well, maybe you can give Doug some advice on pictures his mom may like to see such as landscape, villages, where you stay, etc.

Julie is enjoying being the only child!

How did that whole 5am thing go for you? Do I anticipate you will now be a morning-person?

Hope you are being a signing light to those rappers/others!

    Love you!

PS. I got the squiggles but how do you do the smileys?

  • 11. Julie  |  July 24, 2009 at 3:29 pm

For the record I do not enjoy being the only child b/c neither parent nor Oliver enjoy Family Guy as much as we do. And question for ya does your face look like you have acne ….hehehe? Oh yeah and when you come home the pool needs to be vacumed ….. I am forwarding moms (stupid) chore list to you.

Anyways enough of the that nonsense for real gurl I hope that you are having fun and I can’t wait to see your pics from your broken camera and hear 101 stories. So have fun and keep pleasing God.

    Love ya bunches,

  • 18. Grandma, Grandpa & Aunt Barb  |  July 25, 2009 at 7:23 pm

    Hi Marie:
Don’t listen to your Dad, we think your house is perfectly straight. Must be he didn’t have his glasses on. And Grandma & I think pink is a lovely color. Men just have no sense of design or decorating skills. Better let you go. If I don’t have a chance to write again, have a nice flight back and we’ll see you back in the U.S.A.

    Love “The Jagt’s”

  • 19. Anne Vander Jagt  |  July 25, 2009 at 7:26 pm

    Greetings from Mom!

Sounds like you are having the awesome privilege to see God at work right before your eyes. Can’t wait to hear all your stories.
    Keep working for HIS Kingdom!

    Mucho love,

  • 20. marie  |  July 26, 2009 at 8:19 am

hey dad…. happy birthday again… hopefully you get on before tomorrow because you have to look at our picture on the home page….oh and its not pink it suckulant samon according to Dan 😀
lat night was another powerful night…. i talked a little bit after the video and before senor hermano preached. afterwards we gave everyone hugs and there was this guy off by himself in the dark and i went to give him a hug and he was reluctant at first but then he broke down after he looked in my eyes and squeezed me in a huge bear hug i could hardly breath… it just goes to show that your actions can speak louder than words because we didn’t say anything to each other because of the language barrier.
oh yeah!!!!!!!!! i finally got to play some FUTBOL!!!!!! it was super fun except for one end of the field dropped off down the mountain and the ball kept rolling down the hill real far… and julio or santo would sprint to go get it. also senor hermano played w/ us and he schooled me!!! he is like a little short man who is in his 50’s… but he has quick little legs. 😀 on the way home i used doug’s shoulder as a pillow and i think i drooled a little… ooops.
well, i can’t tell you alllll my stories so talk to you tomorrow night
    love you guys 😀
